Cadet Harrison Ludwig, son of Darla Ludwig Bolton of Glen Allen, recently was honored as part of the Renaissance program at Fork Union Military Academy for his Exemplary Conduct status. Maintaining an Exemplary Conduct performance level requires a cadet to be on his best behavior throughout the entire school year. Exemplary Conduct performance level is earned by receiving less than five demerits as an upper school cadet, or ten demerits as a middle school cadet, in each of the past four grading terms of the school year. Cadet Ludwig, a sophomore, received zero demerits – an accomplishment achieved by only 39 cadets. He was honored at a special Zero Demerit Steak Dinner, served by members of the Commandant’s Office.


Henrico native Quaman Burton, a student at Newberry College, recently completed an internship in Social and Behavioral Science at Gallman Elementary School under the supervision of Dr. Nikki Hunter. Internships are designed to help students gain experience and connections for the career they wish to pursue.


Kathryn Dunn, of Glen Allen, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Ballarmine University in Louisville, Ky. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a 3.5 or greater grade point average for the semester. Dunn is a senior Accelerated Nursing major.


Eric Maroney, of Glen Allen, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Union University in Jackson, Tenn. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a 3.5 grade point average for the semester.

The Commonwealth Chapter of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution presented Blue Star Families of Richmond Founder, Paige Bartholomew, with the Women in American History Award last week at the Westwood Club of Richmond. Bartholomew actively educates the community about BSF. She and other members volunteer at the Virginia War Memorial, Veterans Family Services, Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center, Fisher House, Homes for Our Troops, Our Community Salutes, Wreaths Across America and the USO.  Bartholomew is a member and officer of the Commonwealth Chapter, NSDAR, a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. Bartholomew is a resident of Henrico County.


The following area students graduated in May from Clemson University: Jeremy A. Frantz, of Glen Allen; and Selene Franziska Hess, Matthew H. Richardson, Scott E. Fath, William Dearing Grattan and Jane Elizabeth West, of Henrico.


Josie Lee, of Henrico, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a minimum 3.5 quality point average for the semester. Lee is majoring in Chemical Engineering.


Margaret Grey Roberts, of Henrico, graduated May 4 from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Va. Roberts graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science from the nursing program.


Henrico residents Micah Buller and Christian Taylor recently were honored during Eastern Mennonite University’s spring recognition for leadership and contribution to the community. Buller was honored for All-CVC Second Team and CVC Libero of the Year for men’s volleyball. Taylor was honored for Knight Classic All-Tournament and All-CVC Second Team for men’s volleyball.


Hannah Rittle, of Glen Allen, graduated May 19 from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Rittle received a master of science degree in education.


Henrico native Eliza Goodpasture, a member of the Bowdoin College class of 2018, received the Art History Senior-Year Prize at Bowdoin’s 22nd annual Honors Day May 9. Honors Day acknowledges the exceptional academic accomplishments of students and faculty. Goodpasture is an Art History major and Gender, Sexuality and Women Studies minor.


Bernard Ndayishimiye, of Henrico, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Berea College in Kentucky. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a minimum 3.4 grade point average for the semester.


Henrico natives James Glover and Rachel Hetherington recently graduated from the University of Vermont. Glover earned a bachelor of arts degree in Economics. Hetherington earned a bachelor of science degree in Exercise and Movement Sciences.
