The following students from Henrico County were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at Furman University in Greenville, S.C.: Hallie Miller, Kathryn Jennison and Jack Rotty. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher for the semester.


Tierra Simone LeGrande, of Glen Allen, graduated Dec. 16 from Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga. LeGrande earned a MBA degree in human resource management.


Alexis Ohree, of Henrico, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at Saint Vincent College. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or better for the semester. Ohree is a freshman majoring in engineering science.


Mackenzie Irene Flemmons, of Glen Allen, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at Greensboro College in North Carolina. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a 3.5 or greater grade point average for the semester.


Dylan R. Leigh-Manuell, of Glen Allen, was named a presidential scholar for the spring 2017 semester at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. Presidential scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade point average for the semester. Leigh-Manuell is a freshman majoring in aeronautical engineering.


Mary Baldwin University student Qadira Muhammad, of Henrico, recently was selected to participate in the Rotary International NewGen Peacebuilders program, a global youth peace education program that emphasizes the role, value and impact of young people (ages 14-24) in achieving a peaceful world. The experience began with two intensive weekends of workshops held at Washington & Lee University where Muhammad represented MBU, along with two other students. They worked with MBU Professor Roderic Owen to document their work, and then all three gave public presentations at Virginia Tech on defined community peace-building projects.


Owen Taylor, of Henrico, will have a principal role in Dean College’s upcoming production of “Twelfth Night.”


Isabella Ronson, of Henrico, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at the University of New Hampshire. Ronson earned highest honors, which are awarded to students who earn a minimum 3.85 grade point average for the semester. Ronson is majoring in business administration.


Michael Wayne Wright, of Henrico, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at Fort Hays State University in Kansas. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must earn a minimum 3.60 grade point average for the semester. Wright is a senior majoring in management.


Michelle Press, of Henrico, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at the University of Hartford in Connecticut.


Margaret Lloyd Craft, of Henrico, recently graduated from Greensboro College in North Carolina. Craft received a bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies.


Skyelar Craver, of Glen Allen, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Mass.


Kylie Lynch, of Glen Allen, and Claire Nicholson, of Henrico, were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. The dean’s list recognizes the top 20 percent of undergraduate students within each division.


Cameron Fredrick Dahl, of Glen Allen, recently graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. Dahl earned a doctor of ministry from Beeson Divinity School.


The following area cadets were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C.: Micah Cohen and Alec Reddy, of Henrico; and Kyle Zachwieja, of Glen Allen. Dean’s list recognition is awarded to students who earn a grade point average of 3.20 or higher for the semester.


Hannah Polaski and Meagan Justice, of Henrico, were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.50 or higher for the semester.


The following area students from Henrico County were inducted Jan. 19 into the Order of the Gown at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn.: Madeline Jane Pullen, Megan Stewart Sheehy, Margaret Ingram Legro and Elizabeth Douglas McLean. The Order of the Gown is an academic honor society and student government body. The wearing of the gown is both a sign of academic achievement and a promise to continue the ideals and traditions of the University.
