Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers' Crime of the Week: Aug. 8-14, 2022

This week, Crime Stoppers needs the public’s help in solving a robbery and shooting that occurred in Charles City County.

On Monday, Aug. 1, at approximately 6:50 p.m., the Charles City Sheriff’s office responded to a robbery that occurred to the Dollar General located in the 10300 block of Courthouse Road. When the deputy arrived, the suspect and the deputy exchanged gunfire outside the store. The deputy was struck and the suspect fled on foot behind the store. The deputy was treated at a local hospital and released.

The suspect is described as a male approximately 6 foot 1 in height with a thin build. He was wearing gloves and a black ski mask with a burgundy/dark red-and-black hoodie sweatshirt cinched around his face.
