The Henrico-based McShin Foundation hosted its 14th Annual Spring Awards Banquet April 16 at the Hanover Tavern and honored Pamunkey Regional Jail with the Bronze Key Award for its commitment to authentic peer recovery and jail based programs. A study conducted by Pamunkey Regional Jail show the jail-based McShin Program correlates to more than a 40 percent reduction in recidivism in jails statewide. The Bronze Key is a national award presented at the affiliate level of NCADD and is the highest award that can be given by the affiliate.

Other awards presented included: Staff Member of the Year (Erin Mayberry); Community Service Awards (Angela Gottwald, Jill Cichowicz, and Beverly and Herb Rueger); Bob Gray Volunteer Awards (Kelli Tuck and Robert Murphy); and Alumni of the Year (Michael Quinn and Jillian Nye).
