A man was struck and killed at a Henrico intersection April 28, and police are investigating the incident.

It happened at about 8:35 p.m. at the intersection of West Broad Street and Pemberton Road, according to Henrico Police, who responded and found a man in the roadway with obvious signs of trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police officials are working to notify his next of kin before releasing his identity.

A preliminary investigation indicates the victim was crossing West Broad Street when he was struck by an SUV, causing him to fall into another lane, where he was then struck by another vehicle. Both drivers remained on scene and are cooperating with the investigation.

Police believe the man may have had alcohol in his system and said he was wearing dark clothes – both factors they believe are related to the incident.
