When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound to the back. He was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

The incident occurred in 3600 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike at about 8:30 p.m. Police arrived to find two men suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Forty-four year-old Darnell Lee Porter, of Henrico, has died from his injuries, while the second victim remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
