Local Social Security Administration offices reopen to public

The Social Security Administration is resuming in-person services at local Social Security offices as of April 7.

In a statement, Acting Commissioner Kilolo Kijakazi said the offices would reopen for visitors with and without appointments, though officials strongly suggest that citizens make appointments to avoid wait times.

COVID-19 safety measures remain in effect for those visiting in-person.

“Given that many of the people we serve have health vulnerabilities, and consistent with our union agreements, we are continuing to require certain safety measures including masking, physical distancing, and self-health checks for COVID-19 symptoms,” Kijakazi said.

The SSA has an office at 245 East Williamsburg Road in Sandston. Contact that office at 1-866-218-2307.
