The Omega Rho Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is celebrating its fifth anniversary of community service in Eastern Henrico, Charles City and New Kent counties.

The chapter is planning community service events such as collecting eyewear for the Lions Club, volunteering at Feed More, distributing care packages to Henrico Health and Rehabilitation Center and hosting mock interviews at New Kent High School, among others.

“We are so excited to volunteer in the communities we were established to serve,” said Omega Rho Omega Chapter President Cecelia Huff. “There is no greater feeling than to help others and to lend a hand. We plan on doing so this year and for countless years to come; not only in service, but also by awarding scholarships to students pursuing higher education.”

Since 2017, the chapter has awarded seven scholarships to students attending Charles City, Henrico, Highland Springs, New Kent and Varina high schools.”

Chartered Apr. 22, 2017, the 113-member chapter hosts service programs throughout the year.
