A legal thriller author will be the featured speaker at Henrico's "All Henrico Reads" event next April.

Bestselling author and Edgar Award-winning master of legal thrillers Lisa Scottoline will appear at the event, Apr. 10 at 7 p.m. at Glen Allen High School. The featured title will be Scottoline’s 2018 standalone thriller, After Anna. Henrico County Public Library, Henrico County Public Schools, and the Friends of Henrico County Public Library host the annual event.

Scottoline's sharp legal thrillers have entertained millions of readers for 25 years and won numerous awards, with more than 30 million copies in print and translations available in more than 35 countries. In After Anna, a suburban mother becomes an unlikely sleuth, investigating the murder that tore her family apart as her accused husband is tried in court.  The book entered the New York Times hardcover fiction Bestseller list at No. 2 last April.

Scottoline embarked on her writing career after graduating cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania law school, clerking for judges on a federal appeals court, and working as a litigator in Philadelphia. Her legal acuity and strong female protagonists set her apart from other writers in the genre.  She also writes a humorous column called "Chick Wit" with her daughter, Francesca Serritella, for the Philadelphia Inquirer.  These columns have been anthologized in several books, the most recent being I See Life Through Rosé-Colored Glasses.

All Henrico Reads is an annual reading program in which the Henrico community is encouraged to all read the same book, then discuss it – whether at Henrico Library book discussion groups or on their own – and join together to hear the author speak at a public event. By gathering to discuss a common topic, the Library aims to encourage a sense of community, promote literacy, and foster a love for the connecting power of literature.
