Library of Virginia hosting genealogy workshops

Table of Contents

The Virginia Library of Virginia is hosting a series of genealogy workshops to help people of all genealogical skill levels discover their family’s history.

The 2024 Genealogy Workshop Series will begin on March 1 with a beginner’s workshop on family history. The series then will move on to more advanced topics such as early Virginia genealogy, little-known resources, and researching the history of homes and neighborhoods. In addition to the in-person workshops, there will also be a virtual workshop on cemetery records.

The workshops are $25 apiece for in-person attendance or $15 for virtual attendance, but Library of Virginia Foundation members will receive $5 discounts for either option. The six-part series will take place at the Library of Virginia in Richmond, with workshops scheduled in April, May, August, September and October following the first one in March.

To register, visit the Virginia Library of Virginia website at www.lva.virginia.gov/public/genealogy_workshops or contact Anne McCrery at (804) 692-3568.
