A crowd of friends, family, neighbors, and fellow church members joined Sarah Mayfield Feb. 8 for the launch of her new book, This Sure Thing, at Community West Church on Pump Road in Henrico.
Mayfield, a resident of Crown Grant, wrote This Sure Thing as a tribute both to her late son Elliot and to his brother Bradley. Inspired by her family's own experiences, the book portrays a grieving brother as he imagines the life he and his sibling might have had together and the things they would be sharing.

A counselor at Full Circle Grief Center and self-described "grief nerd," Mayfield hopes the book will offer guidance and support to families navigating a tragic loss, as well as the reassurance that love endures even when a loved one is gone.
Twenty-five percent of author proceeds will be donated to NACG Alliance for Children's Grief and Full Circle Grief Center.
