Lane closures planned on I-64, Gaskins Road Sept. 6-12

Multiple east and westbound lanes on Interstate 64 at Gaskins Road, and the Gaskins Road exit ramps (mile marker and Exit 180), will be closed overnight from Sept. 6 through 12 for pavement rehabilitation, weather permitting. Motorists should find alternate routes or follow the posted detour routes.

The Virginia Department of Transportation will close the following roads for this project:

• Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.: The right and center lanes of I-64 westbound will be closed. Ramp detours will occur at the Gaskins Road exit northbound to I-64 westbound, and on I-64 westbound to the Gaskins Road exit southbound.

• Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.: The right and center lanes of I-64 eastbound will be closed. Ramp detours will occur at the Gaskins Road exit southbound to I-64 eastbound, and on I-64 eastbound to the Gaskins Road exit northbound.

• Thursday, Sept. 8, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.: The left and center lanes of I-64 east and westbound will have alternating closures.

• Friday, Sept. 9, at 9 p.m. through Monday, Sept. 12, at 6 a.m.: Alternating lanes of I-64 east and westbound, as well as ramp closures, will take place.
