Kroger's Mid-Atlantic stores hosting peanut butter drives through Oct. 10

In partnership with Feeding America and local food bank partners, Kroger is hosting peanut butter drives in all its Mid-Atlantic stores for the fifth year in a row. This year’s drive started Sept. 13 and will run through Tuesday, Oct. 10.

Peanut butter is a shelf-stable item among the most-needed for food banks, and it provides an important source of protein for people facing food insecurity.

To contribute, customers at Kroger locations can purchase peanut butter and place it in the donation bins at the front of the store. Any brand of peanut butter can be donated, and all donations will benefit the local food bank.

“Seeing the donation bins fill up with peanut butter jars is always a great reminder of how much our customers care about the community and fighting hunger,” said Lori Raya, president of Kroger Mid-Atlantic. “We are pleased to bring back the peanut butter drive for a fifth year and look forward to helping our food bank partners restock their shelves.”

Customers also can support hunger relief efforts by rounding up at the register. All donations made during the month of September will go directly to local food bank partners. Customers using self-checkout registers can scan a coupon above the card reader to activate the donation option.
