Juvenile in custody after early-morning Henrico shooting kills another juvenile

The juvenile shooting victim has died, according to Henrico Police.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE, JUNE 21, 10:23 A.M.  – A juvenile suspect is in custody after an early-morning shooting in Eastern Henrico County left another juvenile with critical injuries.

The shooting happened just after 12:30 a.m. in the Audubon Village Apartments in the 4900 block of Wood Thrush Circle, across from the Shops at White Oak Village.

Once on scene, responding officers located a juvenile male inside a residence with obvious signs of trauma. Police started life-saving measures until EMS officials arrived to transport the victim to an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

During their investigation, detectives quickly identified the suspect and took him into custody. He faces a petition of underage possession of a firearm, with more charges potentially forthcoming.
