Juvenile faces second-degree murder charge in shooting death of Highland Springs student

A juvenile male is under arrest, facing a number of charges in connection with the shooting death of 16-year-old Highland Springs High School student Jaheim Dickerson, who was killed in the early morning hours of April 9 in an Eastern Henrico neighborhood.

The suspect, whose name is being withheld by authorities because of his age, is facing charges of second-degree murder, attempted robbery, possession of a firearm while underage and two charges or use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

He was admitted April 16 to Henrico’s juvenile detention center.

The shooting occurred just after midnight April 9 in the 1900 block of Glenwilton Drive, not far from the intersection of Creighton Road and North Laburnum Avenue.
