The number of homes sold in Henrico County was up 15 percent last month when compared with July 2018, and the median sale price was 8 percent higher than a year ago, according to a report from Long & Foster.

In total, 551 homes in Henrico sold this July. That was second in the Richmond region only to Chesterfield County, which saw 655 homes trade hands.

The median sale price of the Henrico homes that sold was $280,000, up from $259,975 last July. (The average sale price of the Chesterfield homes last month was $268,000.)

Homes stayed on the market an average of 24 days last month, the lowest in the region.

“One item to note about this market is the healthy level of increases in home values,” said Gary Scott, president of Long & Foster Real Estate. “Homeowners are experiencing 2 percent to 6 percent appreciation in 80 percent of the nation’s markets.”
