James River Association program helps citizens track water quality

Table of Contents

The James River Association is allowing users of its James River Watch program to sign up for emails to receive daily results of the river’s quality. While the results are posted on the James River Watch website, the JRA is providing another option for citizens to keep track of the water quality. A total of 90 volunteers have signed up to monitor the water quality for 2022, with reports coming from 35 locations.

“Paddling, fishing, and swimming are common summer pastimes for the folks in the James River Watershed, but it's important to be informed about river conditions to make sure you are being safe while out on the river,” said JRA Senior Staff Scientist Erin Reilly. “James River Watch conveniently pulls that information together in one place. I personally use it all the time to plan my time at the river.”
