Hungary Creek Middle School Principal Robbi Moose will be inducted into the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame later this year, along with two others from the school.

Bridgewater officials made the announcement Monday. The induction ceremony will take place Oct. 9.

Moose played first base for the Bridgewater baseball team and was the ODAC Player of the Year all three years he played on the team, from 1998 to 2000.

He also was a three-time first-team all-region pick and was selected as a second-team All-American at the Division III level in 1999 and a third-team All-American in 2000.

Two decades later, Moose still holds the school’s career record for batting average (.427) and the career mark for slugging percentage (.820). When he graduated, Moose held program records for doubles, homers and total bases.

Following his senior season, Moose was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 24th round of the Major League Draft. He spent one season with the Danville Braves of the Appalachian League and then began his career as a teacher and coach, becoming principal in 2010.
