Human trafficking-awareness event planned June 27 in Henrico

The forum, sponsored by Youth Impact, Free Kind, and Henrico Too Smart 2 Start Coalition, will begin with a viewing of the 15-minute film “Groomed,” which is based upon the real-life experiences of a local Virginian. The event will be held at Building Constructive Communities Foundation at 5705 South Laburnum Avenue from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature speakers from the Virginia Attorney General’s Office, Henrico County Public Schools, Safe Harbor, and the Henrico Police Division.
The forum aims to empower residents, especially youngsters, to become catalysts for action in addressing the issue. Attendees will be encouraged to share their experiences and knowledge of trafficking, and learn about the various actions and support services available when it is suspected or discovered.
