Nominations are now being accepted for the annual REB Awards for Teaching Excellence, sponsored by The Community Foundation.

The awards honor outstanding teachers in the Central Virginia region who are nominated by students, parents, coworkers or anyone else who considers them worthy of the honor.

Approximately 15 teachers will be selected, and this year each will receive professional development grants of between $5,000 and $15,000 to help support their efforts.

Previous winners have earned graduate degrees, climbed mountains, studied the effects of climate change, traced their ancestors and met peers from around the world — all to reignite their own passion for learning and to pass it on to their students. Each of their REB journeys started with a nomination.

Nominations are being accepted through Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. at https://www.cfrichmond.org/Grantseekers/REB-Awards-for-Teaching-Excellence

Nominations must be made online. A letter in support of the nomination must be written by another individual and submitted online with the nomination.

If you have questions about the nomination process, call Tracie Weston, HCPS’s director of professional learning and leadership, at (804) 226-5121.
