A section of Horsepen Road will be closed Saturday, Oct. 8 for work to replace a drainage pipe near the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad. The work was originally scheduled to occur Oct. 1 but was delayed because of poor weather conditions as the remnants of Hurricane Ian passed through the region.

The closure is planned from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. between Normandy Drive and Three Chopt Road. Motorists should expect travel delays and are encouraged to find alternate routes.

Traffic approaching the work zone from the south, near Patterson Avenue, will be detoured by way of Normandy, West Durwood Crescent and Three Chopt. Traffic approaching from the north, near Monument Avenue, will be detoured via Three Chopt and Patterson.
