HobbyTown, a national chain of retail hobby and specialty toy stores, is opening its largest Virginia store in Henrico’s West End, company officials announced this week. The store is located at 9900 West Broad Street, at the intersection of West Broad and Gaskins Road.

The new location is just a bit farther west from the previous HobbyTown store in Henrico, which along with a Chesterfield location closed recently in preparation for the new Henrico store’s opening.

The Richmond locations have been owned and locally operated by the Dayton family for more than 16 years.

The new space includes a 13,000-square-foot showroom, including RC race tracks, a one-of-a kind drift track, a reservable game room perfect for parties, and thousands of hobby and toy products, including remote control cars, trucks, boats and planes; trains; educational games; science sets; puzzles; model rockets; slot cars and more.

“Providing our customers with hobbies and games to continue making memories with their families, discover a new talent, or explore more ways to spend your time has been and will continue to be our mission,” said HobbyTown VA President Scott Dayton. “Only now, we have a larger space to build, tinker, and play!”

HobbyTown USA is based in Lincoln, Nebraska, and there are more than 100 HobbyTown franchise stores located in 39 states.
