[maxgallery id="42735"]Want to own a 269-year-old Henrico home built by Patrick Henry's brother?

Fairfield (also known as Rocky Mills) is a Colonial Estate that was built along the Pamunkey River, then dismantled in 1928 and moved to its current location overlooking the James River in western Henrico. It sits on nearly eight acres of wooded land just off River Road – and it can be yours for just $4.39 million.

The home features four bedrooms, five bathrooms and 11 fireplaces, in addition to a drawing room, a formal living room, a library and a powder room, among others. It is listed on the National and Virginia Register of Historic Places and was built by John Syme, Patrick Henry's half-brother.

It is notable, according to a county description, for its "lavish exterior use of sandstone ashlar trim, and for the highly architectural quality of its interior detailing."

The home was fully renovated in years past to include a variety of modern luxuries and outbuildings, including a free-standing garage, pool, and guesthouse.

The property and home were assessed for a combined total of $1.729 million this year.

Restrictions on the property include stipulations that the original manor house and historic outbuildings may not be demolished or renovated to alter their historic character.

The home's basement includes exposed stone walls and timbers. The property also includes an outdoor swimming pool, a guesthouse and a four-car garage.
