Highland Springs Little League opens registration, plans chili sale, equipment drive

Highland Springs Little League spring registration is underway and has been extended through March 31. Online registration and limited in-person registration are available; visit HighlandSpringsLittleLeague.com for information.
Practice sessions begin March 1, so early registration is advised.
Open enrollment age groups include Tee Ball (ages 4-6), Machine Pitch (6-8), Minors (8-10), Majors (10-12), Juniors (12-14), and Seniors (14-16). Registration fee is $75 (includes shirt, belt, socks and hats), with additional fees assessed for fundraising/volunteer opt-out. Grants available to waive registration fees for qualifying families.
On Feb. 20, HSLL will hold a chili sale to raise funds. Pre-sale prices per quart are $8 for beef chili, $9 for turkey chili, and $7 for vegetarian chili. Orders should be emailed to HighlandspringsLL@gmail.com. Specify your full name and quantity/type of chili in email. Payment (cash/card) will be made at pick-up, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the field at 300 E. Read St.
HSLL will also hold an equipment drive and is asking families to "Play It Forward" by cleaning out their closets and garages and donating any outgrown or unwanted equipment. Equipment can be dropped off Feb. 27 between 2 and 4 pm. at 300 E. Read St.
