Hermitage blasts Freeman in girls’ softball

The Hermitage High School girls’ softball team trounced Freeman 15-5 May 10 to improve to 8-6 this season. Freeman fell to 2-10.
In the Panthers’ victory, A. Thompson earned the win, pitching 5 innings and striking out eight, while B. Winterson doubled and drove in two runs, M. Young went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI, and C. Stapleton drove in another run as part of a two-hit performance.
K. Sanne hit two doubles and drove in two runs for the Mavericks in the loss, while B. Ward tripled. Sanne, A. Darter and B. Ward all pitched for Freeman.
