High school graduations begin May 20 in Henrico County, and next week the county's nine comprehensive high schools will, for the first time, hold their ceremonies at the new Henrico Sports and Events Center. Those graduations will be held May 29-31.

The move to the new site near the former Virginia Center Commons mall will change parking, ticketing, and ceremony times, according to the school division. All graduates will receive a limited number of tickets and two parking passes to attend the ceremony in person. Parking will be at a premium, and the school division is encouraging carpooling. Schools also will offer bus transportation for all seniors as a way to reduce traffic and ensure they arrive for the ceremony on time.

The 2024 HCPS graduation schedule is as follows:

• Henrico Virtual Academy, May 20 at 7 p.m. (J.R. Tucker High School);

• The Academy at Virginia Randolph, May 21 at 7 p.m. (J.R. Tucker High School);
