Henrico reported 57 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, according to VDH data. After a slight increase last week, cases seem to be following a slight downward trend, with the seven-day moving average in Henrico reaching 70 new cases reported daily.

New hospitalizations in the county jumped to nine on Wednesday, with no new virus-related deaths, according to VDH data.

While there's been a subtle decrease in testing encounters reported for Henrico, the seven-day positivity rates for both PCR and rapid antigen tests have recently increased as of April 3, according to the VDH.

Among PCR tests, Henrico reported a 6 percent average positivity rate. For rapid test encounters, the average positivity rate reached 9.6 percent, one of the highest rates since January. Information on testing encounters intentionally lags behind a few days to include as much data as possible.

Henrico County is steadily approaching 200 total reported outbreaks, according to VDH data, ranking it third among Virginia's health districts. More than 3,500 cases have been associated with these outbreaks.

More than 4.3 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Virginia, according to the VDH, with 33.6 percent of the population having received at least one dose. The state is steadily approaching 20 percent of its residents having been fully vaccinated, by receiving either the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine or the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.

About 176,500 of these vaccine doses have been administered in Henrico County, where 117,682 residents have received at least one dose so far, according to VDH data. More than 65,000 Henricoans have been fully vaccinated.

As of April 3, the VDH reported an average of 78,785 doses being administered everyday. This rate has been on a steady incline since December, when the vaccines first became available. Vaccine administrations may take up to 72 hours to be reported, resulting in a lag in data.
