There were 68 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Henrico County Tuesday, according to the Virginia Department of Health, more than doubling the amount of cases from yesterday, when Henrico witnessed its lowest single-day total since November. The seven-day moving average fell to just below 50 new daily cases.

While there were no hospitalizations, Henrico reported four new virus-related deaths, according to VDH data. For each metric, the moving daily average fell, reflecting a county-wide downward trend in both hospitalizations and deaths.

Henrico County has remained at 176 reported outbreaks, but outbreak associated cases continue to rise, reaching 3,446, according to the VDH. Nearly 1,120 healthcare workers in the county have contracted the virus.

The county is reporting fewer PCR and rapid antigen testing encounters since the beginning of the year, according to VDH data. The average positivity rate among PCR tests fell to 5.6 percent, and the rate among rapid antigen tests leveled out to 6.2 percent, both as of March 5. This data lags behind intentionally to include as much testing information as possible.

Almost 90,000 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Henrico County, according to VDH data. A total of 58,863 Henricoans have received at least one dose of the vaccine. More than 30,000 Henrico residents have been fully vaccinated, receiving both doses necessary for full protection from the virus.

In addition to the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines, Johnson & Johnson vaccines are beginning to be distributed across Virginia. Of the 2.3 million vaccines administered across the Commonwealth, more than 1.5 million Virginians have had at least one dose, according to VDH data. More than 50,000 doses are being administered each day.
