Henrico's COVID-19 case counts continue slight upward trend

During the weekend, Henrico County continued to report slightly higher counts of COVID-19 cases – a total of 144, which, coupled with the 86 new cases reported Monday, increased Henrico’s seven-day moving average of new daily cases to 75.

Henrico reported no new virus-related hospitalizations or deaths Monday, according to VDH data.

The county also reported no new outbreaks during the weekend, remaining at 187 outbreaks since the pandemic started. Henrico's outbreak-associated cases have also slowed, reaching 3,484.

Fewer Henricoans are getting tested than at the beginning of the year, according to VDH data. But the average positivity percentages among both PCR tests and rapid antigen tests have begun to increase, reaching 5.5 percent and 8.8 percent as of March 25, respectively. Data on testing encounters intentionally lags behind a few days to include as much information as possible.

As of March 25, an average of almost 60,000 COVID-19 vaccines are being administered daily in Virginia, according to VDH data. Almost 30 percent of Virginia's population has been vaccinated with at least one dose, and 15 percent has received both doses necessary for full inoculation, including the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. More than 3.5 million doses have been administered throughout the state in total.

In Henrico, more than 140,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, according to the VDH. More than 95,000 Henricoans have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 47,879 have been fully vaccinated.

In addition to the statewide vaccination data reported by the VDH, an additional 186,263 federal doses of the vaccine have been administered in the state. That total includes more than 70,000 Virginians in the Department of Defense who have received the first dose of the vaccine and more than 40,000 in the Veterans Administration who have done so.
