Henrico's connection to tonight's college football national championship game

Clemson will meet LSU tonight in the FBS national championship football game, and two Henrico natives will take the field.

Clemson senior safety K’Von Wallace is a graduate of Highland Springs High School. He is tied for fourth on the team in tackles with 69 and also has two interceptions.

Clemson sophomore running back Sylvester Mayers is a Glen Allen native and Benedictine High School graduate. He’s appeared in just one game this year.

Both teams are 14-0 this season. LSU is ranked No. 1 in the nation, while Clemson is No. 3. LSU is a 5.5 point favorite in the game, which will begin at 8 p.m. and air on ESPN.
