Henrico's 7-day positivity percentage increases slightly

Henrico County witnessed a moderate increase in its 7-day positivity percentage, up from 5.0% to 5.6% as of July 18, the most recent day available. That’s more than 2% lower than the statewide average of 7.9%.

Henrico’s figure is expected to continue fluctuating slightly in the coming days as testing encounters in the county have varied by day.

The Virginia Department of Health announced 25 new confirmed cases of the virus among Henrico residents, bringing the county’s total to 3,112 from among just more than 48,000 testing encounters (an overall positivity rate of about 6.4%).

In the most recent VDH update, four new hospitalizations related to the virus and no new deaths were reported. In total this month, 42 people have been hospitalized in the county with virus symptoms, including 10 in the past two days.

Henrico has witnessed 177 total deaths attributed to the virus.
