Henrico's 7-day positivity percentage of new COVID-19 cases continues to decrease, reaching 5.7% on Sept. 7 – the county's lowest rate since July 15.But that number doesn't yet reflect that fact that during the past two days, 94 new cases have been reported in the county – the most on consecutive days since Aug. 8-9. Those numbers make it likely that an upward spike in the positivity percentage will come shortly.

The percent-positivity metric intentionally lags several days behind the current day, in order to account for the addition of testing encounters and results, some of which take several days to be reported.

On Friday, the Virginia Department of Health also reported two new hospitalizations in Henrico related to COVID-19.More than 85,000 PCR tests now have been conducted among Henrico residents since the pandemic began.
