Henrico's 7-day COVID positivity percent drops

Table of Contents

One-hundred eighty new cases of COVID 19 have been reported in Henrico County since Saturday morning, but the good news is that after rising every day from May 18 to May 25, the 7-day percent positivity moving average among those tested for COVID 19 in Henrico has fallen for the most recent three days on record. The percentage had increased to 15.4 percent May 25, but has since dropped to 13 percent through May 28 – the most recent day shown by the Virginia Department of Health.

VDH has now reported a total of 1,858 confirmed cases in Henrico, with 134 deaths and 203 hospitalizations.

A number of those new cases reported during the weekend were the result of new classification standards being used by the VDH. In cases for which the ZIP code of the patient is not available to the VDH, the agency is now classifying results according to the ZIP code of the ordering provider. If neither ZIP code is available, then the results will be attributed to the ZIP code of the laboratory where the test was conducted.
