Henrico County’s 7-day COVID-19 positivity percentage has dropped below 5% to its lowest level in more than two months – 4.9% – according to data from the Virginia Department of Health.

The most recent percentage reflects the 7-day period of Sept. 13-19. Data intentionally lags several days behind the current date to allow for the most accurate information, since it takes several days for some testing data to make its way into the VDH system.

VDH also reported just 16 new positive cases of the virus in Henrico Sept. 23, along with two new hospitalizations and one additional death attributed to the virus, though it’s unknown when that death occurred.

A total of 96,797 PCR tests – which detect the presence of the active virus – have been conducted among Henrico citizens to date.
