Henrico woman wins $270k in Virginia Lottery's Cash 5 game

A Henrico woman recently won $270,951 playing the Virginia Lottery’s Cash 5 with EZ Match game.
“I kept looking. I kept looking. I kept looking. I think I won!”
That’s how Jeannette Coley described the moment she realized the Virginia Lottery ticket in her hand was a top prize winner. Her ticket matched all give winning numbers in the Nov. 23 drawing.
“I was about to throw the ticket in the garbage!” she said.
Coley bought the ticket at the Food Lion at 9157 Staples Mill Road in Henrico. The winning numbers were 5-6-27-34-36. She used Easy Pick and allowed the computer to randomly select the numbers on her ticket.
Cash 5 with EZ Match features a rolling jackpot, starting at a minimum of $100,000. If nobody matches all five winning numbers, the jackpot increases for the next drawing. The odds of matching all five numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 749,398.
A player who spends an extra dollar for EZ Match receives five randomly generated numbers with a prize of up to $500 associated with each number. If those numbers match any of the numbers on the ticket for the drawing, the player wins that prize – even before the drawing is held.
Coley, who works in finance, said she intends to use her winnings to begin the new year debt-free.
