A 30-year-old Henrico woman is dead after a shooting in Highland Springs Nov. 29.

Sara Rose Pierce was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 100 block of South Oak Avenue, not far from Highland Springs High School, just after 2 p.m. She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

Henrico Police arrested Patrick Lynn Pierce, III, 34, who was identified on the victim’s Facebook page as her husband. He is being held without bond at the Henrico County jail on a second-degree murder charge and use a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The couple had at least two young children, according to their Facebook pages.
