For the third time already this year, Henrico County has experienced more than 200 new COVID-19 cases on a single day.
The county totaled 214 new cases Tuesday, according to the Virginia Department of Health, its third-highest single-day total ever. The other two came Jan. 1 and 2 (236 and 218, respectively).
Henrico's 7-day positivity percentage among PCR testing encounters rose above 14% (to 14.1%) for the first time since April 23. Its positivity percentage among rapid testing encounters rose to 15.4%. Both figures were calculated as of Dec. 31 and both are slightly lower than the state averages of 16.2% and 15.9%.
