Henrico Too Smart 2 Start extends social media contest deadline

The Henrico Too Smart 2 Start Coalition, a non-profit organization that aims to reduce youth substance abuse, has extended the deadline for its social media contest, called Influence the Influencers, until May 18.

The contest is supported by a grant from the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth and seeks to encourage Henrico youngster to create videos that promote substance-use prevention.

Participants are eligible to win up to $1,000 in an educational/vocational scholarship or $750 in a technology purchase. The videos with the most likes on HTS2S's Instagram page will be selected as the first, second, and third place winners, while one video will be selected as the Best Nicotine/Vaping Prevention Video by the HTS2S Youth Task Force.

The videos submitted must discourage the use of nicotine, alcohol, marijuana, and/or misuse of medicine, while promoting protective factors and overall health and wellness. The winners will be publicly announced and celebrated at the Oak Complex in Highland Springs Saturday, June 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
