Henrico Too Smart 2 Start Coalition (HTS2S) launches Not2Vape.org

Table of Contents

Through a grant from Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth, the Youth Task Force of Henrico Too Smart 2 Start Coalition has created a healthy messages campaign to educate youth about the dangers of vaping, particularly how it impacts the mental health of youth, as well as, two text messaging services that have proven to significantly help youth quit vaping.

At the center of this campaign is the webpage Not2Vape.org. At this page youth can learn about the text messaging services Live Vape Free Virginia and This is Quitting. The coalition is primarily promoting Live Vape Free Virginia, since a lot of the information is based on Virginia’s youth and a lot of the messages were created by fellow Virginians. Additionally, its website features resources for parents of youth that vape. This is Quitting takes a more national perspective, but also is a great service with great messages around vaping. Both services are free, are based on accurate information, and feature messages from youth that are also fighting nicotine addiction.

As the campaign develops, the Youth Task Force will be adding messages, information, and pictures to the site. Henrico youth will also notice ads promoting the site on billboards throughout the county, participating schools, and social media. The campaign will also include a vaping prevention and cessation video created by the HTS2S Youth Task Force.

The Youth Task Force invites additional youth to join the fight against nicotine addiction.
