The Henrico County Advocate for the Aging’s Office will host the Brain Health and You! Conference April 19 for older adults and caregivers in the Henrico community.

The event, designed for those 60 or older and their caregivers, will provide information about how to keep the brain healthy and active. It will take place at the Deep Run Recreation Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature educational presentations from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a vendor fair with resources for seniors and caregivers related to dementia prevention and dementia care.

Presenters will include Sharon Napper from the Alzheimer’s Association and Dr. Faika Zanjani from Virginia Commonwealth University.

The more than 20 vendors will range from adult day centers and personal care agencies to respite programs and caregiving support programs. Brain health screenings also will be offered to help detect risk levels for cognitive decline. All attendees also will be entered to win raffle prizes.

Deep Run Recreation Center is located at 9910 Ridgefield Parkway. Registration is required and may be made by calling the Henrico County Advocate for the Aging at (804) 501-5065 or e-mailing agingadvocate@henrico.us.
