The Henrico Theatre Company has announced its 45th season of plays, with season tickets now on sale. Most of the performances will take place at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen.

The company's season opener, "Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express," will run from Sept. 13 to 29. It tells the story of the death of an American tycoon aboard the Orient Express, after it is stranded by a snowdrift. Isolated with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer.

Other highlights of the season include the return of the "Plaids" musical Nov. 1-17, which follows the Plaids family as they spread joy with the greatest holiday hits of the ages, after the "heavenly" Rosemary Clooney lets them know they're needed to put a little harmony into a discordant world.

The comedy "Sylvia" by A. R. Gurney is set to run from May 2 to May 28, telling the story of Greg and Kate, a couple who have moved to Manhattan after 22 years of child-raising in the suburbs. Greg brings home a dog named Sylvia he found in the park, which becomes a main bone of contention between husband and wife.

Then next summer, "8-Track: The Sounds of the '70s," a musical created by Rick Seeber, will make a return appearance July 18-Aug. 3. With propulsive rhythms and harmonies, the show is described as a fast-paced musical romp through one of the most impassioned decades ever.
