Henrico supervisors discuss $20 million in spending, approve Fall Line Trail resolutions

The board also awarded a $1.49 million contract for safety and improvement work at Lake Overton in Chamberlayne to Dorin Landscaping.In addition, the board approved two resolutions that concluded proposed uses related to the Fall Line Trail – a planned 43-mile multipurpose trail between Ashland and Petersburg – are in accord with the county’s 2026 Comprehensive Plan. The first is related to a trailhead at the Longdale Recreation Center, close to the intersection of Francis Road and Greenwood Road, a location that will be upgraded with a paved parking lot, restroom facilities, picnic shelters, and amenities such as workout equipment. The second is related to a portion of the trail at Mountain Road, between New York Avenue and Virginia Avenue, at which access will be provided to the trail and amenities including an obstacle course, rubber track, benches and fitness equipment will be added.The board also appointed Chris Bast, a climate policy and decarbonization expert at Hua Nani Partners, to the PlanRVA Commission.
