Henrico supervisors approve sale of $121.4M in bonds for 10 projects

At its Jan. 23 meeting, the Henrico Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the sale $121.4 million in bonds.

County Finance Director Sheila Minor explained that the bonds were authorized by election referendums in 2016 and 2022 ($7 million from the former, the rest from the latter).

These bonds will fund 10 major projects at different points in progression, some only beginning planning this year while others are ready for construction:

• Jackson Davis Elementary School Replacement - $32.5 million;
• Longan Elementary School Replacement - $31.5 million;
• Firehouse 6 Relocation - $13.3 million;
• Environmental Education Living Building - $12 million;
• Quioccasin Middle School Replacement - $10 million;
• Three Chopt Area Park Access Road - $10 million;
• Tuckahoe Park - $5.2 million;
• Tuckahoe Creek Park Phase III - $2.5 million;
• Drainage Improvements - $2.5 million;
• Richmond-Henrico Turnpike Widening - $1.9 million.
