At its Sept. 10 meeting, the Henrico Board of Supervisors approved an expansion of the River Mill subdivision at the intersection of Woodman Road and Winfrey Road in the Fairfield District. The new project will include the construction of as many as 60 new townhomes, with the Fall Line Trail eventually running between the existing portion of the subdivision and this newer portion.

The board also approved a $778,922 contract with Norman Company Inc. to renovate the lobby of the Human Services and Social Services offices at 8600 Dixon Powers Drive and authorized a public hearing on proposals for $38.2 million in new spending at its next meeting, Sept. 24.

In addition, supervisors appointed Ruby Anderson and Mary D. Maissie to represent the Fairfield District on the Keep Henrico Beautiful Committee, which raises public awareness to reduce littering. Supervisors also appointed Steve Van Dam to the board of directors for the Glen Allen Cultural Arts Center Foundation.
