Henrico students honored for participation in 'ALL Stars' program

Two students – including Ellie Wood of Freeman High School – were selected as MVPs and each received an additional $4,000 scholarship. The Community Impact Awards in memory of Ray Patterson and Cheryl Oliver were given to Bre Robinson of Hermitage High School and Jalen Copeland of Hanover High School, each of whom earned an additional $2,500 scholarship. The Team Player award in honor of Scott Schricker went to Lily Ricci of Deep Run High School, who also received an additional $2,500 scholarship.
“The Awards Show was an amazing way to honor everything this first ALL Stars class has accomplished,” said Jacki Quinlan, director of youth programs at Sports Backers, of the awards event held at the Hippodrome Theater in Richmond. “They truly put in the work to become standout leaders within their own communities, and within the Richmond community. We can’t wait to see all they accomplish as they head to college and beyond.”
In addition to Wood, Robinson and Ricci, the Henrico graduates were Kylie Jenkins, Julia Mann and Tucker Washburn, all of Godwin High School.
During the event, organizers also announced the 21 students selected to participate in the 2024-25 version of ALL Stars, a group that includes four students from Henrico schools: Gabriela Linkonis of Collegiate School; Sanaa Moore of Henrico High School; and Molly Sleman and Tobias Suarez-Vasquez, both of Freeman High School.
