Farheen Zaman of Godwin H.S. and Hyoseo Lim of Deep Run H.S. are among the approximately 3,500 winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced recently.
College-sponsored Merit Scholarship winners are part of the distinguished group of about 7,500 high school seniors who will receive National Merit Scholarships for college undergraduate study worth over $31 million.
Hyoseo Lim, whose likely career field is environmental science, has won a National Merit Emory University Scholarship. Farheen Zaman, the winner of a National Merit Virginia Commonwealth University Scholarship, is considering a career in medicine.
