LISC Virginia and Henrico County have launched the Henrico County Small Business Resiliency Grant Program, a $375,000 fund that will provide grants and coaching services to small businesses in Henrico to assist in their transformation toward improved safety, sustainability, and profitability.

Approximately 15 small businesses will receive business coaching services to design a plan to improve their resiliency and sustainability during the pandemic and beyond. Businesses also will receive grants between $10,000 and $25,000 to implement their plans.

Small businesses may register their interest in the program at https://lisc.tfaforms.net/352. The Expressions of Interest form is due Wednesday, Nov. 3 by 11:59 p.m.

“The Henrico County Small Business Resiliency Grant Program is about more than just rapid response; it is about building the long-term resiliency of our small business community,” said Jane Ferrara, LISC Virginia’s executive director. “After receiving relief grants, many businesses are now ready to become more resilient and sustainable. Our program provides intensive one-on-one business coaching and dedicated funding to help businesses design and implement plans that will help them operate during the pandemic and beyond.”

Businesses can use the grant funds to create new products or services related to their core businesses; modernizing technology for e-commerce; rehabbing space to efficiently and safely serve customers; purchasing equipment; and more. Businesses will work with a coach for six months to create a project plan that includes goals, benchmarks, and strategies to implement their visions.

The fund was made available after Henrico County Board of Supervisors approved the use of federal CARES Act Community Development Block Grant funds. Henrico’s CDBG program is administered by the Henrico Department of Community Revitalization.
