A Henrico County sixth-grader appeared on the Kelly Clarkson Show April 22, showcasing her artwork made from recycled materials in honor of Earth Day and Earth Week.

It was actually the second appearance on the show in the past year for Ashlyn Nelson, a student at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.

Clarkson arranged for Nelson to work with nationally recognized artist Angela Pozzi, with The Washed Ashore Project, on a 13-foot sturgeon made from trash found at the beach. The piece will be displayed at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens.
