Henrico Schools to host immunization clinics for rising 7th, 12th grade students

Table of Contents

To enroll students in Henrico County Public Schools, parents must ensure their children have up-to-date immunizations for their ages. Meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY) is required for all students entering grades 7 and 12.

Students who are entering grade 12 who have not received a dose of the vaccine also need to receive a booster shot. Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis vaccine (Tdap) is also required for students entering grade 7, as well as students over the age of 11 who have not received it.

To be eligible for the vaccine, students must be at least in grade 6 or 11 and enrolled at the school hosting the immunization clinic on the day of the clinic. Parents or guardians are not required to accompany students to the clinics, but they are required to sign a 2024 Adolescent Vaccine Consent Form, which can be found on the HCPS website in English and in Spanish.
