Henrico Schools to host four hiring events in February, March

Henrico County Public Schools will host four hiring events in the next six weeks as it seeks to fill vacant positions.

The division is currently seeking custodial and maintenance staff, bus drivers, school nutrition staff, nurses, instructional assistants, substitute teachers, and classroom teachers.

A job fair for all open positions will take place Feb. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Libbie Mill Area Library, followed Feb. 20 at Tucker High School from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. by an educator job fair and interview day for potential teachers, librarians, school counselors, psychologists, social workers and school nurses.

A school nutrition job fair will be held Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Libbie Mill Area Library to highlight positions with the school nutrition team, and on March 20 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Highland Springs High School, officials will host a second educator job fair and interview day.

In addition to offering a staff pay raise of 8.2% in Fiscal Year 2023-24, HCPS also is offering a bonus of as much as $3,000 (paid in installments throughout the year) to newly hired bus drivers during their first year of service. (The division is also offering safe driver and attendance incentives to drivers who are already on staff.) Extended full-time contracts are also available for drivers who want to work during summer school.
